I'm an electronics engineer; I entered the ropeway industry from the field, not the desk. In Bursa and Alanya I carried full technical responsibility — from the installation and commissioning of one of the world's longest lines and a castle ropeway, onward. The field taught me one thing: the most dangerous gap isn't where no one looks; it's where everyone says “this is how we've always done it.”
Today I'm the founder of my own engineering company and serve as Secretary General of the Cable Car Operators' Association. My work is to make visible the fragility your operation has been hiding with habit and a few experienced people — so the system doesn't stand naked the day those few are on leave, tired or gone. EN 1709, ISO and a properly kept audit trail are the difference between saying “we did it” and “I can prove it.”
